Incomplete

Walking along the step-up and step-down and stumble-everywhere sidewalks in Puerto Vallarta the average visitor is drawn into the images of incomplete.  There are images of vehicles parked in a state of disrepair some years ago and now grown into place by trees, weeds and dust.

The empty pail, the broken tree, the overgrown cab and the deteriorating rubber window seals point to an incomplete vehicle repair.  Whether nearly ready for the road or the recycling depot this vehicle was overgrown while waiting incomplete. Often we can get startled by incomplete images.  Our neural network corrects what the eye sees.  Having the capacity to invert images and bridge gaps.  On the street in Puerto Vallarta an artist captures an incomplete visage with a complete view.

The cross-section of the half head threatens to speak.  Eyes up street.  Nose twisted.  Lips screaming into the traffic. In a city of incomplete the truck awaiting repair, the half-head bargaining with traffic pale when compared to the truncated staircase.  The last four steps (no matter how essential) have dodged construction.  This image when collated with the others hints at undone.

The stones, sand, dust and exhaust all point in the same direction:  It is not finished.
