A father picks up children after school.   The transportation is not the issue!  These children attend school in shifts.  Either seven till eleven or one till five.  The utilization of school facilities is brilliant, however the climate and poverty of the educational facilities will require more than the promise of education.  School for all through grade 9 is a national goal. These children are breaking out into a world where practicing English is a meal ticket, a way out, hope!

Across the red sanded field an educator that survived the intellectual purges.  He labelled himself a construction worker and lost his glasses.  Oum Son Ihon is 85 years old.  He still tutors students after hours to augment their education.  His primary love is teaching.  He watched his colleagues die and survived with guilt to teach another day.  The killing fields are his history but his hope is the children.
