Graffiti, Dreams and Light

The evening graffiti, carved across the palm fronds, speaks of an artistry beyond paintbrushes and digital manipulation. Every day, every passing second, every season a new canvas dancing with the crystals of water.  The fractured colours palete the sky with a rainbow spectrum.  At the rise of sun or set of sun people sit amazed.  There is a disconnect between the rays and our neural networks, yet our eyes are drawn into the canvas.  The rock pile a visual of the work to be done.  On closer examination it is a green statement in brown.  The granite paver stones were removed from the roadway to make necessary sewer repairs and returned to a restored road bed.  No asphalt, no machinery and guaranteed for life! Think of Roman roads.

Perched, with a view, the preening bird pauses over the bay, over the construction site, over the walking visitors.  A branch, denuded by droppings and traffic, outlines against the sky — a pointer drawing eyes to the sky. The flocking of clouds softens the sun.

Along the Malecon a ladder hosts angels climbing to and from heaven. This picture captures the Jacob dream at Bethel, but there is more, the dreams of figures heading toward the light foreshadow change.  Light from a lamp, may with Carl Jung’s insight, focus us on a deeper insight resulting from an alignment or aura emerging from conquest and so arranging things they come into contact with. Gentle and dangerous!  The Bustamante ladder reaches into the angel presence for a deeper alignment.  A tribute to all who have struggled and walk among us with a gentleness that is most dangerous because it cannot be manipulated.

The sundown image in the darkend bar is an image of people moving away from the light.  A whole night of wicker lampshades and Ruffino candle holders has not in my ken produced a sunset painting.  Rebuilding neural networks will take conquering ourselves with light that awakens in dreams.
