Go North

Never having been to the northern most point in Canada we took this opportunity to take a snap at the northern most tip of Australia.  A strait away from Papua New Guinea!

The irony of the title and the sign and the visit was in the Australian Flag.  They were passing us a flag to wave and on identifying ourselves as Canadians, the flag was withdrawn either in shame or disgust.  Thinking about it I wondered if we were unworthy and all such other nationalistic fears.  I looked over at the rock and came to a very different conclusion.

The reefs and rocks and trees were all here before the aboriginals and the explorers and the settlers and the visitors and the signs.  It dawned on me as the sun was setting that if one kept going north one would come back to where they started.  Now, being mere mortal that would be futile. However the sun has been making that journey, or so it appears, for as long as there has been a sun.  Not tired, not bored, not overworked, not burning out!  Maybe there is something to be said for winds and waves obeying the genesis cycles.
