On an inland plateau a small village is emerging from the ashes of history. The Phoenix like revival or Pedralvia is a testament to resurrections of all kinds. The rose is a reminder that each bloom is an emergence and a re-emergence of a plant stock that roots new life. The tower rising above the town is re-built on a foundation of 400 years of history.
Old doors turn new. Old entrances have been renewed and tired buildings repurposed for new living. Old houses restored as vacation rentals. The town inn serves coffee all day!
In the fall sunshine we not only drink coffee, we also share a Portuguese favoured pastry, Pastel de Nata. Rest and restoration have a lot to do with hope and Resurrection.
